Hello! I'm Kate, a storyboard artist.
My biggest goal is to be part of animation’s collaborative environment. In 2022, my friends and I founded "Pitch Party", where we took the structure of Trey Buongiorno's CDA course to continue pursing the craft of storyboarding by creating new stories and working together on new projects. We provide feedback to each other and invite industry professionals to review our pitches.
I graduated from Penn in Fine Arts and Consumer Psychology in The Wharton School, which helped me learn how to create universally appealing content. I contributed to a permanent exhibition at The Franklin Institute as the leader of the neuron artist team for the largest representation of the human brain in the world - Self Reflected. I continue to reconnect with my Penn Ski Team through annual alumni trips.
Since college, I have lived in many places and met so many people and creatures. I spent a year studying art at VFS, where I created the feature film concept Endemic (soon to be published as a children's book). My internship with Aaron Blaise was life-changing, where I learned hand-drawn animation and we drew together at wildlife sanctuaries. I worked as a PADI Divemaster in the reefs near West Palm Beach, Florida. Shortly before the pandemic, I moved to Pasadena where I'm a substitute teacher with PUSD.
My favorite subject-matter to draw has always been animals, especially horses and big cats (Spirit and Lion King anyone?). Animals are my greatest inspiration in my work, as I am committed to providing a voice for those who cannot tell their own stories in this world. I love translating my passions into art and bringing them all to life through the power of storyboarding!
